Brother – Buddy

9 Mar

Their manifesto alone is enough for me to fall madly in love with them…

“BROTHER Manifesto: We’re really unique and interesting, seriously! We like all types of underground bands that nobody else has ever heard of, and we love all the really really indie movies that only like five hundred people in the whole nation have seen! Oh yeah, and we love foreign films, not the fun or interesting ones, the ones that make you think! …and let’s see…what else… we’ve read all these books, books that you’ve never even heard of, books that have started revolutions! We’re revolutionaries! …and let’s see… we’re not very political, but we hate George W Bush! and we hate Michael Moore too! Let’s see… we love the outdoors and we love doing adventurous things, oh yeah, we love traveling too! And we love exotic foods, and did I mention we love traveling? We just want to visit the world!!! …..did somebody say tongue in cheek?”

Yes, I love them. They are good as well, so that helps. Also, they are from Slough, BBC Office anyone?! Oh yes.

Next up, another new singer/songwriter, Buddy (name is more than annoying to google, he’s lucky I care enough to dig :) ) that I instantly swooned for… I am realizing more and more with this project how easy it is for me to fall madly in love with the simplicity of a guy and his guitar. There is something to be said for good writing and easy melodies. If your voice is sincere and filled with some kind of empty longing that comes with years of practice, I probably heart you. See example below.
